Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Experiencing things with people who share the same vision of the world is always a plus.
That's what Couchsurfing is all about, and it's only those who travel and get to know people in their everyday lives that come out of these experiences of discovery and exchange so much stronger. It's by going 'elsewhere' that we become aware of the world around us and of our own existence.

Music, Movies, and Books
The 1980s marked an unprecedented cultural and media revolution. The end of the Hays Code in 1969 freed filmmakers from the strict restrictions established since the 1930s, allowing them to explore taboo themes such as sexuality, violence and social issues. This period saw the emergence of small independent studios, which took advantage of this new freedom to produce daring and experimental films, with directors such as David Lynch and Jim Jarmusch at the forefront.
At the same time, the advent of home video liberated mores and offered new ways of producing and consuming films outside the traditional circuits¹. New media exploded, particularly with the rise of video games, which opened up a new form of entertainment and influenced popular culture. Social criticism intensified, with films tackling issues such as social injustice, corruption and inequality. Genre films have also evolved significantly, with the revival of horror, the rise of science fiction and the popularity of teen comedies¹.
These transformations have not only redefined the cinematic landscape, but have also had a lasting impact on pop culture, influencing music, fashion and the media in profound and enduring ways.
