About Me

I'm a professional writer and dancer living in Florida with my boyfriend Tim and dog Rory. I love connecting with people and exploring new places.

A couple of fun facts about me:
• I was homeschooled my entire life
• I lived in Europe for a year
• I have trained in around twenty different partner dance styles
• I taught Argentine tango for a scientific study on its physical therapy benefits for Parkinson's patients
• I teach a weekly creative writing workshop where I live
• I worked in a crystal shop for long enough that I know way too much about rocks
• I work at a kava bar–if you haven't heard of them, they're really unique non-alcoholic bars with their own culture and community around them

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm heading to Austin, TX this week to help my brother and his wife move, and am looking for a place to stay! I am a social person and love to meet new people, but probably won't be around much because I'll be helping them.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Moved to Europe at 18 for a year-long college program after being homeschooled for my entire life--definitely a wild transition. I lived in Florence, Italy for 9 months and London, England for 2 months and traveled to over a dozen countries while I lived there.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm always looking to learn and pick up new skills, and I love to share the skills I do have with others. Want to learn to write an engaging short story? Or how to dance a fun partner dance of your choosing? I'm your gal.

I majored in creative writing in college and currently teach a weekly community writing workshop in SWFL. I've been dancing for ten years--but not in a classically trained kind of way. My specialty is partner dances and I dance bachata, Argentine tango, Brazilian zouk, kizomba, waltz, foxtrot, swing, samba, rumba, cha-cha, Viennese waltz, merengue, American tango, and three different styles of salsa. I can do a little bit of hustle and west coast swing, but not enough that I could teach it.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am happy to help with household chores, take care of pets, buy groceries, etc. I typically will eat on my own/get my own food because I have some tricky allergies, but I'm happy to help cook if you'd like. I'm also an incredibly good problem solver, so if you have a problem that needs to be solved I can probably come up with half a dozen ideas on how to tackle it.
