Overview
About Me
My name is Nicole Griesmeyer and I'm a kind soul. I live just outside of Seattle with my boyfriend of almost four years. I'm pretty deep into the groove working right now. I work for a small company called Porch.com as a software developer and I seem to learn and grow every day there. I'm by nature non-threatening, open-minded, adaptable, flexible, contemplative, and am on a continuous quest to figure myself out, and understand and appreciate everyone around me. I love trying new things, enjoy finding a good balance between being active and relaxing, and I appreciate a good thrill (skydiving and river rafting have been some of the best experiences of my life).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm getting started on couch surfing because I just learned about this community and thought it would be a great way to interact with interesting people. Rather than touristy and gaudy vacations, I love to interact with actual locals, eat actual food, and be totally immersed in places that I visit, and this seems like the perfect way to do that. It is possible when my boyfriend and I don't have a third roommate that we could have folks stay with us in Maple Valley WA also, and would love to entertain people and show them around Seattle.
Interests
I'm a software developer, so I enjoy high level problem solving and learning about technology. My favorite topics in Software Development right now are Object Oriented Design and Design Patterns. I am also a Meyers Briggs Type Indicator enthusiast, so I enjoy consuming new information, chatting about brain functions, and typing people that I meet very much. (I am an INFP, the dreamer, by the way.) I also enjoy hot yoga, cycling, hiking, walking, river rafting, and otherwise being active when I'm not working or in school. I have had two home stays, one in Argentina(5 months) and one in Costa Rica(1 month), and have since settled down into a work routine and so very much miss and crave abroad adventures and spanish speaking. I love trying new things and visiting with interesting people.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like a variety of movies, and some of my favorites are The Big Lebowski, Star Trek: Generations, and The Lion King. My favorite shows include Breaking Bad, Silicon Valley, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Avatar: The Last Airbender and Downton Abbey. I love reading on my kindle and my tastes vary there as well. Some of my favorites include Wuthering Heights, Hunger Games, Ender's Game, Harry Potter, Gone Girl, The Gifts of Imperfection, and Finding Your Own North Star. I love all kinds of music. Some oldies I like are those of Paul Simon, Creedence Clearwater Revival and Pink Floyd. I also enjoy music that I can work to, including electronic hiphop like Ratatat, Ronald Jenkees, Glitch Mob, Clean Bandit, Calvin Harris, Bag Raiders, Deadmau5, I could go on and on in this genre. I also am a sucker for catchy/hiphoppy music.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I skydived a few years ago. My video is actually quite popular with those I show it to, because I am utterly terrified. But I faced the fear and did it anyway, and was happy to have done it. Here is the link :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mjZuX9tTm0g
