Overview
About Me
Basics: I have my own business and work in a variety of live event production capacities including on sound crews, logistics teams, and as a production and stage manager. I can seriously nerd out about all sorts of history and science as well as punk rock and the bizarre convolutions of US culture and politics.
Current Mission: To experience as much of the world as I can in the ways that I can. To meet new people, explore new things and document as many soundscapes as I can along the way. Finish writing some children's stories, submit some poems, finish that novel I've only just started.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm heading to Europe for my first international festivals and in general have been very supported by friends who offered me their couches in the past for my art and career efforts so would like to return the favor.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
-Started an experimental radio show that plays uninterrupted field recordings taken of remote locations by scientists for as long as I possibly can to keep human voices off the air.
-Put together a team to do a 5.1 surround sound installation of various places across the globe at the local planetarium and got the planetarium sky designer to match the starscapes to the recording times and places.
-Captained a stage crew of six and completed a full stage and large audio patch change between Public Enemy and The Roots in 15 minutes for the opening of the National Museum of African American History and Culture.
-Randomly gave a bottle of whisky to a Grammy-winning violinist to go backwoods camping with because I couldn't take it on the plane and it was far, far to good to let TSA have.
Teach, Learn, Share
Always up for audio and sound geek outs. Love hearing people's stories.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Coffee. Whisky. Lots and lots of stories. Music recommendations. Fairly widely traveled in the US so if you have any questions about various states I've been through 38 of the 50 or more...I've lost track.
