About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To explore as much of this world as I can. When traveling with my two amazing children, I want to expose them to as many cultural experiences as possible. Traveling alone, I enjoy every moment while learning a thing or two about myself in the process.

ABOUT ME

Hello! I'm a 33y/o professional writer, novice traveler, avid road-tripper, obsessive music lover, and overall happy person. I am very interested in learning about and experiencing new cultures, and super excited to have Japan be my first venture outside of the US.
I also have a wide array of other interests :-)

Update: I LOVED Japan! Tokyo was so much fun, thanks entirely to my CS hosts and hostess.

PHILOSOPHY

A little kindness goes a long way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am willing to host, but I think people assume that I live in the city. I don't; I live in Walnut Creek, the East Bay. It's a lovely suburb in itself, and only a 30 min. BART ride to San Francisco :-). I commute there everyday for work.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm a novice, but can't wait to try it out!!

Update:
On the last leg of my trip in Japan, and couchsurfing in Tokyo was GREAT! Thank you Yosuke and Tomoko for hosting me, and Nobu for dinner. Such a lovely country with amazingly kind and beautiful people.

Interests

love anything outdoors (camping, beach, hiking, etc.), am obsessive about great music and concerts (my favorite genres are grunge/90s alt.rock, classic rock and oldies), reading, writing, live performances, cooking, fine arts, and much more. I also really love rollerblading and scrapbooking :-).

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: There are just too many to name. Focus Films are generally great. The silliness of Will Farrell and Judd Apatow movies, Singles is a favorite, Forrest Gump, too many!
Music: Screaming Trees, QOTSA, Soundgarden, AinC, classic rock, 50s/60s oldies, Jimi H, Elliot Smith, the Beatles. Again, too many to name, so I just listed those artists who get constant play and/or I own all their albums.
Books: The Warmth of Other Suns, The Parable trilogy by Octavia Butler, The World According to Garp, A Prayer for Owen Meany, A Widow for One Year, Confessions of Max Tivoli, Kindred, Bombingham, The Poisonwood Bible, The Lovely Bones, Rain of Gold, too many to name :-)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've given birth to two human beings :-), and they are AWESOME
