ABOUT ME

I'm from Charlotte, North Carolina, and graduated in 2007 from UNC with a double degree in biology and spanish. Right now i am straying from the bio path and going down the spanish route, but i still haven't figured out where that route is going yet! In 2007-8 I was a language assistant of english in a primary school, and am discovering i know more rules about the spanish language than i do of my own lengua materna! go figure! I studied in Sevilla in summer 2006 and got bit by the travelling/living abroad bug. it was such a tease i had to come back to Spain to live for a longer period and improve my spanish! I'm currently a graduate student/teaching assistant at the University of Georgia. I'm studying Hispanic linguistics, and it's great so far! I don't know that I'm the most efficient student but I've learned heaps so far.

Soy de Charlotte, Carolina del Norte. Me licencié en 2007 en biología y lengua española. Ya no utilizo tanto mi licenciatura de biología, sino la de español. El año pasado viví en Almería, España donde trabajaba como auxiliar de inglés en un colegio público. En verano de 2006 estudié en Sevilla, y desde del momento de llegar me enamoraba de España y de viajar en general. Soy estudiante pos-graduo/ayudante de enseñanza en la Universidad de Georgia. Estudio la lingüística española y me encanta! No creo que sea una estudiante muy eficiente, pero he aprendido un montón hasta ahora.

lately I´ve been really into some amazing Spanish groups like Ojos de Brujo, Macaco, Manu Chao, Chambao, etc. and also random house/electronic/dance/fun music too! I like it all though (but not so much country!)
Books! well gee, I'll just say what I'm currently reading, because the list would get too long. Currently: Inés of My Soul by Isabel Allende.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've thrice attended the Duke/Carolina game in Chapel Hill. The 2005 game was hands down the most intense sporting event I've ever attended in my life, and I still get chills thinking about it from the pure energy that resonated from every person there! (of course we WON after coming back from being down almost 10 points with 3 mins left!! GO HEELS!!)
