About Me

Hello!
I'm a 38-year-old Italian guy living in Bologna with two flatmates. I work as a primary school teacher and I’m really passionate about bicycle touring — whether it’s on my Brompton folding bike or my gravel bike.

I’ve just returned from a sabbatical year cycling through South America, so I still need a bit of time to settle back into “normal” life 😄. In the meantime, I’m enjoying a little bike tour around Europe between July and August 2025, and I hope to start hosting cyclists and travelers again from September.

I speak English and Spanish, and I’d be happy to host — as long as you give me enough notice so I can coordinate with my flatmates. If everything works out, I can offer either a private room or the couch in the living room.

Looking forward to meeting you — and happy travels! 🌍

My space and facilities
You’re welcome to use the kitchen, washing machine, and dryer. There’s always some coffee available at home, and usually something around to at least make breakfast. If I’m free, I’d love to show you around the city a bit or just share a meal together.

Just a heads-up: the apartment is on the fourth floor with no elevator, but bikes can be safely stored in the basement.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because I really enjoy meeting people from all over the world and learning more about different cultures, travel experiences, local habits, and—of course—food! I'm curious about the way people live in other places and I love exchanging stories, tips, and perspectives.

Whether I'm traveling or hosting, I think Couchsurfing is a great way to connect in a more genuine and relaxed way. I like the idea of sharing not only a roof, but also some everyday moments—having a chat over coffee, cooking something together, walking around the city, or simply hanging out.

When I have the chance to host in Bologna, I enjoy showing people around, going for walks or bike rides, grabbing some local specialties or just a good gelato. I’m always happy to share what I know about the city, but I’m also curious to hear about where my guests come from and how they live day to day.

Interests

I started traveling the world as soon as I turned 18, and after finishing university I moved to Australia for two years. I explored the country from top to bottom and also visited several countries across Southeast Asia during that time.

I worked as a dive master—I absolutely love scuba diving, especially in tropical waters. There's something magical about the underwater world that I just can't get enough of.

My latest big adventure was cycling across South America from north to south. I travel often by bike, both in bikepacking and classic cycle touring style. If you're ever around my area, I'm always up for organizing short or long rides together!

I also really enjoy hiking and spending time in the mountains or surrounded by nature. But I’m just as curious about exploring cities—walking through neighborhoods, discovering local spots, and soaking in the culture.

Music, Movies, and Books

To relax, I enjoy watching movies and TV series—especially to keep up with different languages when I don't get the chance to practice them in real life. I like a bit of everything, from comedies to thrillers (in reasonable doses!).

I like reading children’s literature, which fascinates me and is part of my job. I love flipping through travel books and diaries—real stories from the road always inspire me.

Another big interest of mine is psychology. I often listen to podcasts on the subject, along with others that keep me connected to what's happening around the world.
