About Me

I will be going on a large road-trip around the pacific northwest, west coast and south west. I'm going to start travel nursing at some point but I wanted to get a better understanding of the area before I do so.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am quitting my job as an RN in Michigan and going on my road trip. I have never been to most of the places I'm going and do not know anyone is certain areas. I would love to meet people who live there and have a local's view of wherever I end up.

Music, Movies, and Books

My all time favorite book is East of Eden by John Steinbeck. However, I am currently getting through the Harry Potter series, enjoy a good crime novel (Jo Nesbo) and try actually learn something about philosophy or some unknown subject once in a while.

My favorite movie would have to be Cool Hand Luke, though I absolutely Love the Big Lebowski

I listen to most music but I have gotten more into electronic (Made In Heights, Baauer, Little Dragon). I love exploring new music and learning of others favorites.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Finishing up my first bachelor's degree I did an internship at a Physical Therapy clinic in Nepal. I was there for a month at the clinic and adventuring around Nepal and then flew to Thailand to spend about three weeks in wanderlust. Then I flew to visit my sister in Qatar and then back home.

"Those mind don't matter and those that matter don't mind. "
-Dr. Seuss

"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.”
-Dune

``La Pologne? La Pologne? Isn't it terribly cold there?'' she asked, and then sighed with relief. So many countries have been turning up lately that the safest thing to talk about is climate.

"'Madame,'' I want to reply, ``my people's poets do all their writing in mittens. I don't mean to imply that they never remove them; they do, indeed, if the moon is warm enough. In stanzas composed of raucous whooping, for only such can drown the windstorms' constant roar, they glorify the simple lives of our walrus herders. Our Classicists engrave their odes with inky icicles on trampled snowdrifts. The rest, our Decadents, bewail their fate with snowflakes instead of tears. He who wishes to drown himself must have an ax at hand to cut the ice. Oh, madame, dearest madame.

''That's what I mean to say. But I've forgotten the word for walrus in French. And I'm not sure of icicle and ax.

``La Pologne? La Pologne? Isn't it terribly cold there?'' ``Pas du tout'' I answer icily.'"
-Wislawa Szymborska
