My name is Niels - I am 29 years old, and I have spent most of my adult life being a leader in different organizations, national institutions and private firms. I am a smiling, outgoing and social person; I love having fun, being around a lot of people, engaging in different activities.

I have a huge love for the arts; music, theater and dance. I love going to concerts, festivals, theaters and exhibitions!

Another great, and you could say upcoming, passion, is to travel. I have not seen that much of the world yet, but I have seen a lot of Europe, the North American East Coast and I have been to Cuba.

I hope this next journey (Antarctica, South America & Galapagos) can teach me a lot more about myself, but also about the different cultures of South America.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The reason I want to become a couchsurfer, is first of all because I think (and hope!) it will enable me to engage and delve into other cultures, allowing me to get a bigger understanding of them - and hopefully also myself. I think it is an awesome way to meet new people - and I really look forward to it!

I want to give back to the world - give back from all the experiences and cultural exchanges! Give some of myself to the people I meet!

Books. I love books. I love to read and love to travel to other worlds, times and places in a book! Everything from (Penguin) classics, over sci-fi and Harry Potter to classic fantasy!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Took a Diver’s License!

.. and also, when I went to Cuba, i went through Russia without a valid Visa. I actually got through Airport Security without ever showing a single document! My pass included! When I got to Cuba, I also jumped on and off a moving train within the first hour I was there!

.. I also started an Award-winning refugee-program in Denmark!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you a lot about culture, food, danish or english, how to fish, play a few chords on a guitar and I love to sing!

I want to learn new languages, improve my Spanish and French! I want to learn to cook new dishes, learn new music, be inspirated to new hobbies and so on!

.. and I would love to tell the story of my life, the things I’ve learned, about love, loss and learning to live with who you are! I would also love to hear your story - if you want to share it!
