About Me
Hi, I’m Niels from the Netherlands! I’m 34, a lover of travel, nature, and meeting new people.
I’ve had this account for 13 years but only started using it recently—my first hosting experience was in March 2025, and I’m hooked!
I’m passionate about exploring new cultures, trying local food, and soaking in nature. In my free time, I enjoy reading nonfiction, watching movies, documentaries and series, designing websites, and capturing life through street photography. When I’m not on the road, I work as a medical doctor (GP), which is all about connecting with people.
Besides that, I like to hang out and eat and drink with friends. I’m kind of an amature barista and also like to bake the perfect sourdough bread or pizza.
I’d say I’m pretty chill but sharp, always up for for a good chat or a new adventure.
I almost always travel with my girlfriend Aranka and we have so much fun to explore places together and meeting local people. She is an Art Director and designer and a total foodie and amazing cook.
Excited to connect with fellow travelers and share some great experiences!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I like almost all music.
Movies: Too much good movies to mention, but here a few I really liked: Rear Window, The Shining, One flew over the cuckoo’s nest, 12 Angry men, City of God, Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter..and Spring.
Books: Non-fiction books about psychology, selfimprovement, economy, investing, geopolitics.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Took a dip in Antarctica’s icy waters—just jumped right in like a penguin! Freezing, but absolutely unforgettable.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share travel stories, Dutch habits and culture and the best medical recipe for hangovers (I learned from one of my professors at medical school)!
