About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Host people in SD and make them love the city and people as much as I do!

ABOUT ME

Hello!

About me:
I'm a 34 year old college graduate with my own house in La Mesa CA. I do have two lovely cats on premises. I've traveled quite a bit myself- Poland, Germany, France, Netherlands (I was in Amsterdam for NYC 2000), South Korea, Mexico, etc. Now that I own my own house, I'm starting to become a bit more self-introverted (learning to dance, paint, etc). I have a lot of different friends in San Diego area- architects, artists, musicians. I have lived here almost 12 years from living in the high desert. I was a snowboarder for a while that traded in my board for a surfboard. I now get too cold for the water, but I do like going out on friend's boats to go sailing, etc. I have a lot of connections in San Diego- and there is always something fun and great to do here!

PHILOSOPHY

I am a very friendly/witty person. I am always looking for new friends and probably do about a bbq/smaller house party every 3 months. I do love to cook, there is a grill outside. If new to the area, I can definitely help show you around town. If interested, let me know more about yourself! I can then email photos /share more information. Thank you and have a great day!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I own have a 900 sq ft home with a shared bath.

I'm currently thinking about moving my Mom out from Texas in January, and so I'd like to keep my extra room open for her come that time. In the meantime, I'm fine to meet a few new friends and have a place for you to stay!

About the house:
Huge backyard= great for studying. gardening, bbqs. Garage has a pool table. 2 cats live on premises- I'd prefer to not have anymore. Close to downtown La Mesa/ Trolley, bus stops (less than a mile to downtown La Mesa restaurants, shops, etc). 3 Miles to Lake Murray for fishing, boating, running, etc. Cowles Mountain. Cool "Secret stairs" trail behind house, across the street from coffee shop, & 24 hour fitness. A mile away from the Ray and Joan Kroc Center (Swimming, basketball, Ice Skating, etc.) The Riviera is within walking distance for a nightcap and to see free live bands as well. No smoking in the house/no hard drugs. Room can be available starting in one week- 2 months. Close to SDSU (I'm an alum). Good for Grossmont College. Washer and dryer in house.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am new to CS, however, I have traveled to Portland and I used AirBnB. It was a great experience.

Interests

I love my friends and family, so spending time talking and drinking coffee is usually what I'm doing. I just got back from spending some time in a Cabin up in Crestline, and I'll be heading out to Boston for a job interview and to meet up with some more of my friends.

I do love playing pool, working out, going to local restaurants, learning to do stuff to my actual house. Thrift stores, volunteering, etc.

Music, Movies, and Books

Lucinda Williams, Ryan Adams, Scrubs,

Anything witty/black comedies.

I also took a few film classes- there are some great places to see films in SD. MOPA at Balboa Park, the Ken theatre. There are also good discounts on tickets for plays etc. through Arttix. I also have friends who play music so I'm quite familiar with the local venues as well.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spend New Years 2000 in Amsterdam. Slept in the train station in Venice. Randomly visited Detriot to see architecture and found the Heildelberg Project.

Tried taking a European Cruise out of the Fjords- boat broke. Packed up my small backpack and toured Europe. Took a cable car over the alps.
