About Me

CURRENT MISSION

decide whether be a high paid manager or an adventurous pirate :D

-- amendment 5 years after I wrote the sentence above: I kinda chose the pirate-path and moved to London in September 2017 but it still feels quite grounded for the life of an adventurous pirate. I got a good job, a nice flat, a quite regular day schedule. So I guess I have to be honest and say that I didn't become any of those possibilities that seemed so important to my 22-year old self. But I know more what I want from life now and I have a good feeling that I'm on the right path ;)

-- amendment another year later (wow I love how I can follow up on my personal development through my cs profile) - Ok, guess I'm back on the pirate path as I quit my day job and turned my back on corporate life to become an artist. Or at least something that involves art and/or people :D so if you can teach me anything artsy you're chances to stay at my place just increased.

ABOUT ME
I try to respect everyone I meet equally and love if people treat me the same. My hobbies are rock climbing, music, reading, good (preferably vegan) food, psychology if you can count that as a hobby and exploring nice places. I love art and nature - animals, plants, music, painting, soft green hills, the forest, nice landscapes and all this other instagram-worthy stuff.

I am originally from Vienna, Austria and moved to London in September 2017. I live there with my lovely boyfriend, who will accompany me on most of my journeys. Here is his profile, if you want to take a look at his hobbies and character too: https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/simmerl

PHILOSOPHY
We should think more about where we could be wrong, rather than thinking why we are right.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: <3. I listen to indie-stuff, rock, alternative, classical music (Ludovico Einaudi ftw), experimental jazz and when going out I enjoy dancing to drum and bass.
I play the piano and guitar so I hope you don't mind me practising while you stay at ours.

Books: I do like reading and also like all of this philosophy, poetry and thinking stuff. However, I don't know any impressive quotes and can hold a philosophical conversation only when drunk. Keep that in mind ;)

Movies: great stuff :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I quit my job, left my flat and life behind and moved to London (which turned out great!)

Teach, Learn, Share

I know quite a lot of things about communication and psychology, I am also a great (vegan) cook and know a lot of typical austrian recipes by heart. I am very artsy, I enjoy painting, making music and writing short stories. However, I'm quite shy regarding my art as it's very personal so if you can teach me something - that's awesome but please don't ask me to perform a song or draw your face in charcoal ;).

What I Can Share with Hosts

If you're staying with me, it's great to chat about life and other stuff but don't feel obligated to spend all your time with me/us. I get it, London is an expensive city and you normally don't have that much time to spend anyway. As my boyfriend and I are usually quite busy during the week we are fine with just co-existing and sharing our flat with travellers.
