About Me

A fairly well seasoned traveler, with a good sense of humor, enjoy making new friends, like company, people of all ages and also happy alone. Supportive, a good listener, take responsibility, do my share and take care of friends. Enjoy good conversation, playing games, love cooking & dancing! Enjoy theatre and the Arts, an occasional concert and cinema goer. Otherwise fairly fit, Ashtanga yoga and good walks keep me going. A strong passion and my work is in photography and film-making, especially long term documentary projects. Have taught and practiced Aikido, sailing, windsurfing and outdoor activities. Also worked with theatre for some years, and still do when the opportunity arises. By the way I'm only half my Facebook age... http://nigeldickinson.photoshelter.com/

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Worked deep in tropical rainforests, living with indigenous peoples, documenting their daily life and culture, their resistance and protest against deforestation, their struggle to keep their identity, supporting them in their own self-determination, communities and individuals, who have become dear friends and family, who I have revisited several times over decades

Teach, Learn, Share

Stories about indigenous and marginalized peoples, the environment and sustainable development. Some fun and games, activities to entice, picked up along my travels, photography and video

What I Can Share with Hosts

My own fusion of world cooking, Asian/African/European mix, sometimes quite spicy, can be vegetarian or not, meat, fish or seafood, a variety of tastes, fresh herbs and spices, sweet and sour, non-sugar recipes
