Hello! I'm a student of Environmental Studies living in Greece. I love nature, music, arts of all sorts, cinema, existential dread inducing conversations and travelling, obviously. I moved from Saint Petersburg to Athens with my mom in 2018. I dream of visiting any place in the world be it the Sahara desert or the lush Amazon.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am a passionate traveller, now at 21 (!) countries visited. When I travel I believe it is best when you meet as many people as possible. I hitchike, sometimes like to stay at the beach with my hammock. Meeting locals and interesting, knowledgeable people is what excites me most, so couchsurfing is the perfect platform for me.

I've gotten so much kindness from people, drivers and hosts in my travels so I feel like I should offer it back to the world.

Gentrification is a dire problem in Athens, rent goes up for the local folk because so many landlords prefer to make short-term Airbnbs out of their property and so it seems that hospitality exchange is the most ethical way of visiting here. I prefer you stay at my place than rent any kind of an apartment for short-term in Athens, also so many of them are owned by Israelis that fund a genocide. Please do not use Airbnb if you stay in Athens, but i guess this applies to any place in the world.

Interests

I REALLY love music, especially more alternative and experimental sounds or world music. If you are able to, I would appreciate it greatly if you could bring me a vinyl record with your country's music.

Philosophy, geography, ethnography, geology, history, science in general and any area of human knowledge interest me. Please share. I try to develop a collection of maps too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've hitchiked around Albania and North Macedonia. Got a free bottle of home made 70% Albanian raki. That other time hitching in Ohrid i almost got molested. Best trip ever. love the Balkans.

Teach, Learn, Share

If I am able to, we can go on a hike and maybe I can teach you something about the environment and how it works in the Mediterranean particularly.

I would say I am decently knowledgeable, but I am more of a generalist than a specialist. We can talk about many things and I am always eager to teach and learn.

I am very bad at cooking. Please teach me how to cook food from your country if you have time.
