I always find that the best way to see a city or town is together with a local. Couchsurfing opens up for the opportunity to meet like-minded people from the city you are traveling to.

Books: I love a Swedish writer from the 1910s called Hjalmar Söderberg and his novel The Serious Game (Swedish: Den allvarsamma leken) from 1912. More writers I like are Gun-Britt Sundström and Lena Andersson.
