Overview
About Me
Hi! from Bombay (Mumbai). A strong believer in the power of 'play' and movement, I'm a facilitator of play-based learning, and a practitioner of Capoeira (An Afro-Brazilian movement-based art form). I work with different age groups, but primarily children, based on the methodology of 'experiential education' (learning by doing & reflecting). My love for & belief in play has made me an active practitioner of 'Play for Peace' (playforpeace.org). I'm also associated with a venture called 'Kshitij' (kshitijworld.com), that organizes camps, workshops, and seeks to enable children in living a more content & 'fuller' life.
I love to walk (leisurely), explore (both, places as well as the mind), have conversations & share stories.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Having been born & brought up in Mumbai, life around me has mostly been fast-paced. But personally I like to slow down a bit. One way of doing so is by visiting places outside of Mumbai, and at least for sometime, 'live' in those places like the locals there would do. Couchsurfing seems to be a great medium in enabling me to do so. Besides, it helps me fulfil my (huge) appetite for exploration.
I would love to host travellers as and when my situation here allows me to do so. Till then, I would like to meet up fellow-humans and have some meaningful & enjoyable experiences together.
Interests
I'm always up for a long walk, a scenic trek, or a cup of coffee (or lemon-juice).
Deeply interested in understanding the human mind & emotions.
Holistic healing is something I want to get deeper into. I recently attended a workshop on the Indian healing system of Ayurveda, which was very enriching.
I'm also quite interested in cooking.. (amateur for now.. getting there.)

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm really fond of Robin William movies - Good Will Hunting, Patch Adams. Also, Karate Kid, Cast Away, The Book Thief, Shall we Dance, and many more.
I'm exploring music from different countries these days. I'm finding myself attracted towards 'tribal' music. (Guess I would be ever ready to go back to the 'hunter-gatherer' era!)
'Free to Learn' - by Peter Gray & Fiction novels by John Grisham
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I recently facilitated a week long 'Play for Peace' & 'Capoeira' workshop with children, youth & parents at a learning environment in the Konkan region of India. It turned out to be an amazing experience for the participants as well as for me.
For detailed description, here's the link of a blog post about the same:
