About Me
CURRENT MISSION
getting back to normal life after travelling
ABOUT ME
I am a curious, open-minded, sporty 25-year old Austrian, born and raised in Vienna. I am a passionate football player and love sports in general.
I became addicted to travelling during a train trip through France when I was 17 and haven't found a remedy against it. My travelling philosophy is to discover a city by walking around as much as possible.
PHILOSOPHY
Without wanting to be offensive: Other people's comments here sound like wisdom, but I agree with Hermann Hesse on this, who once wrote: Wisdom cannot be passed on. Wisdom which a wise man tries to pass on to someone always sounds like foolishness.
Carpe diem. Live every day as if it was your last one. ... These famous words come pretty close to what I try to do.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Can offer "only" coffee or drink at the moment, hope to be able to offer a couch in autumn 2012 when I get my own apartment.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I first surfed during a 9-day long trip along the US east coast in May 2012 visiting Washington D.C., Philadelphia, New York city and Boston. All my hosts were wonderful and gave me their individual local view of their city, that's exactly the reason why I love couchsurfing.
Interests
I like solving problems of any kind. I am into sports very much. Sports I practice regularly are: Football, tennis, cycling and some climbing. I like travelling (obviously) and while doing so I try to get to know a city or country I visit from a local's point of view rather than from a tourist's point of view. Since I studied biotechnology which is a mixture of biology, chemistry and engineering I am interested in all natural science.
I read quite a lot of books on diverse subjects, fiction and non-fiction alike.
