About Me
EDIT: Moved back to Berlin. Will update acco details once I'm settled.
I'm your typical Bangalorean; an engineer by profession (not for long hopefully :D), swears by masala dosa and filter kaapi and bemoans the current state of Bangalore :(
I love seeing new places, be it alone or with friends. I was, pardon the cliche, bitten by the travel bug when I was in Europe for two months for an internship and my desire to see as much of the world as possible has just grown stronger and stronger thereafter. I guess if I had had a clue about Couchsurfing at that time, my experience would have been even more memorable. Nevertheless, there are thousands of places I still have to see and now that I've realized how awesome Couchsurfing is, I plan to surf at each and every one of those places.
I'm easy to get along with and I don't treat Couchsurfing as just a way to find easy accommodation. Rather I'd love to build life-long connections with the people I host or surf with.
Some quotes which have affected me in one way or the other -
"Instead of wondering when your next vacation is, maybe you should set up a life you don't need to escape from"
"Most people die at 27, they're just buried at 72"
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do"
And I can never forget the infinite wisdom of two of the greatest philosophers of our time, Calvin and Hobbes :D
"C: If people stay outside and looked at the stars each night, I bet they would live a lot differently
H: How so?
C: Well, when you look into infinity, you realize there are more important things than what people do all day"
"In the short term, it would make me happy to go play outside. In the long term, it would make me happier to do well at school and become successful. But in the VERY long term, I know which will make better memories"
"That's one of the remarkable things about life. It's never so bad that it can't get worse"
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love hosting people whenever I'm free and try my best to spend time with them and show them around Bangalore, i.e. if they'd like it. My philosophy about this is simple - I'd absolutely love it if someone did the same for me when I go to a new city and so, in that hope, I try to reciprocate, when someone comes to "my" city.

Interests
Obviously, if I'm on Couchsurfing, I love the usual traveling, meeting new people, blah, blah so I won't go into that. I love the outdoors be it trekking, cycling, hiking or any kind of sport, especially football. I like learning new languages too and am currently learning Spanish on my own. Sharing travel experiences is another thing I absolutely love. I'm constantly on the lookout for new experiences and I'm game for almost anything. I'm also trying to learn to play the guitar. I'm in love with the underwater world too and got my advanced scuba diving certification recently!

Teach, Learn, Share
I can help people learn Hindi and Kannada, if they are interested. I'm not an expert on Indian customs and culture but whatever little I know, I can teach people. I've found that sometimes when you are trying to explain some small things, things we maybe take for granted in our countries, you suddenly realize how weird, how peculiar, how interesting they are and I absolutely love that feeling.
I'm learning Spanish and I'm always up for a lesson on it or any language for that matter. Exchanging ideas, thoughts, cultures, you name it.
