ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Nikki.
When I first meet new people I can be quiet shy but after a wee bit of time i'm very social. Traveling is one of the most important things in my life. I've always had the dream to travel to each piece of land that this world had to offer but ironically my first real trip was when I was 18.
At the moment i'm taking a gap year where i'm working and travelling.
Another thing some people say is quite strange is that i have a bucket list with some crazy things on it…i have to admit ;)

Creativity is also a very important thing in my life. I play the harp and ukulele and would love to learn how to play the ghuzeng.
Writing is something I lose myself in and is a sort of state where i can put all my emotions is.

To end: i love spontaneity and honesty. That's what makes life good.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I started to surf at some peoples houses and liked it so much that i wanted to host. But since i live with my parents and brother they had to agree and they weren't too keen about it. Eventually i have convinced them and now i am hosting as well and they are liking it :)

I surfed for the first time in portugal and i host as well.

Music, Movies, and Books

My most favourite movies that I have seen yet are:
seven pounds, memoirs of a geisha, into the wild, listen to your heart, serendipity, the kings speech, now you see me.
I have not yet discovered a book that captures me completely, my quest
is still going.
Music wise: mumford and sons, xavier rudd, james arthur, ben howard… i generally like every genre, the lyrics just have to be good.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

-I love Italy and last summer (2012) I went for the first time -after 5 years of nagging my parents.- and it was a journey that I will never forget. The landscape, the language, the people...

-In october this year I did a work placement in Scotland and I worked with people who had a mental disability with a learning disorder. All I have to say is that I am returning back to this place and the organisation.

-Standing on a mountain near loch ness and screaming as loud as i could. PERFECT MOMENT
