About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I've been talking about a backpacking trip for the last four years and I'm finally making it happen!
I'll be in mainland Europe Feb 10th-Feb 28th (or so) and in the UK for most of March (though if there's something I shouldn't miss I'm up for adventure). I'm looking for couches, new friends, and guides around the city. Let me buy you a drink.
I like to experience culture through the everyday life of it's inhabitants. I grew up in a tourist town, so I'm not as interested in what the Rick Steve's travel guide tells me what to see as much as I'm interested in your local watering hole and what the locals like to do.
ABOUT ME
I'm in the Theater community, both on stage and backstage. The arts are important to me, but I'm just as happy chatting about sports.
I'm young at heart and love meeting new people. I like to think I can find common ground with anyone I meet. I love a good beer and to dance my heart out, whether in a club or in a ballroom. I've got some 'nerdy' interests when it comes to movies, books, and games, but they're not the core of my personality.
I've been in Portland, Oregon for over 6 years and love to play host and tour guide. So if you come to visit I'll tell you where to go, and if I'm available I'll explore with ya. I know most of the bike routes and know my way around the transit system.
PHILOSOPHY
-Be kind to your neighbor, Don't Judge, Forgive, Find Truth, Live as an example to others
-Live life young, and thus never grow old.
-If play is dangerous, better to die playing than to never play and live long.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've loved the concept of Couchsurfing since I first heard of it. Not only is it a great way to travel cheaply, but it puts you in direct contact with the locals so you can experience a city through their eyes and no just what the tourism pamphlets recommend.
I love to play host and meet travelers, though I have yet to be able to host any. I'm hoping to change that with new roommates this spring.
I'm backpacking through Europe and what to experience as much as I can on my modest budget and would rather go for drinks with locals than pay for a nice hotel room.
