About Me
ABOUT ME
I am very open-minded and egalitarian in nearly all aspects of life. I enjoy different people with different ideas and I like challenges of all kinds. I am easy to get along with and I am sure we have many things in common, perhaps especially if we are from very different parts of the world!
Professionally I am an architect, but my greater passions are science and cinema: science, because it allows us to appreciate the mind-boggling beauty of everything around us, and cinema, because of all the arts it alone can encompass the totality of life.
Not meaning those two to be exclusive in any way, I also take keen interested in music, literature, food and all kinds of things...
PHILOSOPHY
This is the part of the profile which is best suited by a quote from a smart person (or several), so here it is:
"If we long to believe that the stars rise and set for us, that we are the reason there is a Universe, does science do us a disservice in deflating our conceits?
For me, it is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring."
~ Carl Sagan
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've yet to surf, but I have hosted a few times!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've hosted a number of friends while I was living in New York: included many walks through the Lower East Side and over the Williamsburg bridge, good local craft ales and free concerts because it was the summer!
Interests
It will be easier to make a list of things that I am not interested in, which would surely include pet grooming, aroma therapy and windscreen wipers.
I find most everything else at least interesting if not fascinating and I spend most of my free time learning new things. The good list includes architecture, design, cinema, astrophysics, quantum physics, evolutionary biology, biotechnology, music (normal and weird), philosophy (Ancient Greek and contemporary), modern and contemporary art, and all kinds of other things: just ask!
