About Me

Hey! My name is Nikolas and I am currently living in San Francisco for an internship this summer. Moving to Berlin soon for my undergraduate studies at Minerva Schools at KGI, where 80% of the class is international and we travel to 7 different cities throughout our 4-year program. I've lived in Brazil for most of my life but am passionate about traveling, meeting new people, getting to know different cultures and experiencing life to its fullest.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I really want to meet new people in cities that I visit, and I think Couchsurfing would be a great way to do this! Also, I am eager to host people in all the cities I live in as well throughout the world, and maybe show them around the city if they wish.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am really interested in Literature in general, ranging from classics such as Shakespeare to more popular books like Percy Jackson. I enjoy reading philosophy works from a variety of different philosophical and cultural perspectives such as Chinese Philosophy or American. I enjoy a wide range of movies as well, from horror movies to comedy ones to comedic romances to classics to tv shows. In terms of music, I really enjoy pop, electronic, rock, some modern classical composers, and any mixture of these genres.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went on a week-long expedition in the Andes when I was 15 along with other international students. We hiked and camped in the mountains, then carried out activities with students from a school for the blind when we came back to the base. The whole trip involved discussions of global significance such as the immigration crisis, as well as a lot of self-reflection and mindfulness. It was an amazing experience, with amazing views and challenges that paid off.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know how to speak several languages, and am learning more! I can teach about Brazil's culture, traditions, food, and am willing to learn about other cultures as well. I am willing to learn about anything anyone is willing to teach me, as I have a passion for knowledge and expanding my world views. I can share about my experiences growing up in another country surrounded by international students and traveling abroad to study in an even more international university. Additionally, I've lived in 5 countries in my 21 years of life and have met and interacted with people with perspectives completely different than mine, and have grown a lot because of it. I would be happy to share some experiences and cultural practices I learnt throughout this crazy journey.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share a lot of my culture with any Hosts, ranging from customs to traditional food. I usually travel with friends from other countries as well, so it would be more than just one culture! I can share my time, my story and my experience and perhaps my company.
