We are Nikolai, Aya, and our 9-year-old son, Platon — a close-knit, adventurous, and creative family on a mission to explore the beauty of the world and share these experiences with our son. 🌍✨

Here’s a little bit about us:
- Nikolai is a passionate photographer who loves capturing fleeting moments, and a computer programming enthusiast.
- Aya is an designer, illustrator, yoga instructor, and a lover of creativity in all its forms — from ceramics to writing and sketching about our travels on Instagram (@anastasia_akhmetova).
- Platon is our curious and cheerful little explorer, a fan of board games, camping, and the simple joy of life in a tent under the stars.

We are a vegan family, so we can sharing food and stories is one of our favorite ways to connect with people.
For over three years, we’ve been traveling across Southeast Asia, hiking through breathtaking landscapes, learning new cultures, and meeting incredible people along the way. Couchsurfing has been a wonderful part of this journey, giving us a chance to form meaningful connections and truly immerse ourselves in each place we visit.

Our goal is simple: to show our son the beauty of diversity, kindness, and shared experiences while leaving a positive impression wherever we go. We believe in respecting the homes and lives of those who welcome us, and we love to bring warmth, laughter, and great stories to the people we meet.
