Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The world is much bigger than one city or country. Couchsurfing is a gateway to exploring its beauties and mysteries through the eyes and experiences of locals. Is there anything better?

Interests

-reading fiction and sometimes nonfiction
-biking (the Netherlands is the ideal place for it)
-hiking
-playing volleyball (I am part of a great team and it is so much fun)
-exploring new things (whether it is a language, a place or just a piece of information etc.)
-politics
-connecting with people; this might not sound like an interest but I value meaningful encounters, deep, substantial conversations and genuine social interaction even if it is short term or momentary

John Waters, Pedro Almodóvar and David Lynch are some of my favorite directors I would say but the range of films I like is quite broad.

The Tales of the City by Armistead Maupin and Edmund White's books.
Nell Zink is brilliant.
The Year of Magical Thinking by Joan Didion. Here Comes the Sun by Nicole Dennis-Benn.
