ABOUT ME

I am a designer at the core but for me that ties together many elements and skills ultimately connected by creativity. I am passionate about using design to explore and understand who we are, this provides the overlap between my personal and professional life.

PHILOSOPHY

My current phrase is "the perfection of imperfection" because as a creative I love things that are unique, unfinished, hand crafted but my personal contradiction is I am a complete perfectionist. I struggle to not try and get everything just right. So the phrase acts as reminder that actually the imperfections are beautiful and what make things special and unique.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am currently looking to surf and/or meet other surfers whilst in travelling.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I used couchsurfing in 2012 when I first came to Jamaica for 3 months and met some great people, some of who have become good friends.

Creativity, fashion, style, art, photography and all things visual. Purple. Curious about Identity. Culture. Crafts. Diaspora. Community. Entrepreneurship. Young people. Future. Collector of Smartie lids. Stamps. Shoes. Notepads.

Love visiting museums and galleries, meeting new people and discovering other cultures. I would say I enjoy travelling but haven't done half as much as I'd have liked to as I have run my own business for the last 8 years.

Love learning new things, I can be often found with several books on the go, or taking new classes.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favourite movie of all time is 70s classic Warriors.

Music wise my heart belongs to old school disco and funk, tribal house and a bit of soul but in my music collection you'd find a bit of everything form reggae to indie and what iTunes describes as post punk seems to be quite high on the list at the moment. Really I'd say if it has a strong melody I am probably easily bought.
