About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My mission is to inject the world into myself as quickly as possible

ABOUT ME

I love to learn above all. I love people, love school, desperately want to travel. Am hoping I'll enjoy this site.

I study the brain, cognitive science - the most interesting possible major (yes I'm biased). I am most interested in the philosophy/neuroscience/AI branches of that field.

PHILOSOPHY

I am a collection of variables and levers.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would like to surf, and I will also be willing to host (though that may not involve sleeping - unless you are willing to sleep on the floor). I will be located in university housing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Haven't had any yet - would like to change this.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Saw Yosemite

Teach, Learn, Share

I was a photographer for a while - working for my community college paper. I have taken several classes on the topic. I actually won two first place feature photo competitions at the yearly journalism conferences we went to - against more than 350 other college photojournalists. I have also spent many years taking landscape photos for my personal use. I know much about using a camera, various techniques.

I spent a lot of time with lockpicking as a hobby. I know this is probably brave of me to mention, but it really is a legitimate hobby. I understand how the locks work, I can even make my own lockpicks (use windshield wiper blades and a grinder). I have never used it for nefarious purposes, but I was able to successfully pick all of the locks in my parent's house. I don't really do this anymore (I sort of felt like I "conquered" the subject, and moved on to other interests), but I can still share about it if it interests you.

I know quite a bit about computers. I have built several, have spent a lot of time learning how to troubleshoot them, etc. I also know a lot about rooting Android phones, and how to get the most out of Androids.

I worked as an EMT for a year, can tell stories about that.

I love to draw, I have sort of an abstract, psychedelic type style.

I am now learning about cognitive science, various theories of consciousness, perception, etc.
