About Me

JEWISH BY HEART ❤️

"Not all those who wander are lost." - Strider/Aragorn, The Fellowship of the Ring

"It feels good to be lost in the right direction." - Anonymous

I love aimless walks; always on the lookout for something new but highly values those that are tried and tested. I tend to be very traditional/old-school and yet will not hesitate to forgo it if it hinders progress and development (the good ones).

"Every dreamer knows that it is entirely possible to be homesick for a place you've never been to, perhaps more homesick than for familiar ground." - Judith Thurman

“You must go on adventures to find out where you truly belong.” - Sue Fitzmaurice

“We travel, some of us forever, to seek other states, other lives, other souls.” - Anais Nin

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My friend suggested that this app is a good way to meet people all over the world. I have been very fascinated in learning about different cultures and meeting people.

Interests

Writing is a passion. While I rarely get to practice it now, it's in my DNA. I have the tendency to go for that Jane Austen-esque feel whenever I can, though most of the time they end up very cheesy.

I love reading books particularly - or should I say almost exclusively the classical ones.

Poetry is another thing that I greatly enjoy. An example would be:
...Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
...Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom." - William Shakespeare, Sonnet 116 (excerpt)"

Anime is also close to my heart. Visited a lot of places here in Japan just because they were featured in an anime. I do get a lot of inspiration from them.

I hope to travel the world, visit every country, meet a lot of people.

I don't have to understand the lyrics of a song for me to appreciate it. Good music goes beyond language barrier.

As much as I would love to claim I'm a good cook........... Anyway, I love to eat.

Been so blessed of being able to live out my dream of living here in Japan. As a country, it has always been Japan for me. It's very hard to describe other than it being a love affair.

As a people, on the other hand, it has always been the Jewish people for me. I hope to learn more about their culture, history - everything there is to learn about them. I hope to meet a lot of people from Israel.

Living on a 'no beach, no life' mantra. If only I can take away the sunburn part of it then it would be much better.

The goal is to become a digital nomad so that I can work and at the same time see and explore much of this beautiful world.

People - we all have our stories, the good and the bad and there's so much to glean from them. Two ways to learn in life: learn firsthand or learn from others.
