About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Passionately living the every day

ABOUT ME

Right now my life is not so easy, so I unfortunately can't handle a lot of new connections... Sorry lovely couch surfers, I will be fully back in the community when I'm better!

I'm usually up for an adventure, though right now most of my adventures are in the academic intellectual realm. I love learning, mostly about people, society and how we can live together on this planet. I've been active on my shared CS site which I used when backpacking Central America with ex-boyfriend in 2011, check it out for references and such ( CHRISANDNINA ). For the summer 2012 I'm travelling solo around Europe, going to some festivals, action camps and gatherings.

I love to cook, eat, and talk. I like partying when the atmosphere encourages real connection and genuine fun rather than the mindless drinking and sexist chit-chat of the club scene.
I'm open to new people, new things, and new thoughts.

PHILOSOPHY

We have to be mindful of our impact and aware of our selves. I believe in sustainability, autonomy and critical reflection and action.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I prefer to stay with couchsurfing hosts when I travel (except when staying on a tropical beach under the stars is an option), but haven't been able to host yet because I live in a collective (we take people in off the street all the time, so there's little room for planned stays).

I'm a respectful and interested surfer, I'd like to cook some meals for you and have good conversations.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've couchsurfed in Central America and Europe with some great people, and I've met so many great couchsurfers during my travels.

Interests

Humans, ecosystems, life, living, DIY, herbal medicine, creating collective forms of organization and alternatives to the current hegemony.

Music, Movies, and Books

Into the wild, Lemon Tree, Monty Python, all things Star Wars and Trek..

Spearhead, Sublime, the Hail Seizures, the Taxpayers, the Moldy Peaches..

"Mengele Zoo" by Gert Nygårdshaug, "Extremely loud and incredibly close" by Jonathan Foer, "1984" by George Orwell and many many others.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The week I spent on an island in Panama, drinking only fresh coconut water, spear-hunting fish, foraging for food in the jungle, and meeting the very occasional locals gathering 400 coconuts in their canoe. I loved the peace there. Watching the animals, the water, plants, stars...

Teach, Learn, Share

I can cook well and I write fast. I can teach basic macrame and like to trade my creations with other people's arts and crafts.

I really want to learn about your projects and their effect on the communities around you. I'd like to become a better gardener and learn about permaculture.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Nicaragua, Norway, Panama, Portugal, Spain, Sweden

Countries I’ve Lived In

Denmark, United States
