Hello everybody,
We are Nina (28) and Julius (27), a couple from Germany.
In February 2024 we quit our jobs and moved out of our apartment in Cologne (which is why we can't host at the moment..) and started traveling some parts of the world with 6 months of work and travel in Canada and touring the USA west coast and nationalparks with a van as our first stops. Then we went further south through Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama, before we went to Colombia, Peru, Bolivia and a fraction of Argentina. After Chile we flew to New Zealand where we were working for 6 months as well. Now it's time to travel again and we will be in Samoa, Fiji, Solomon Islands and Papua Neuguinea before heading over to the Philippines.
Because we don't just want to travel but also get to know different people, cultures and of course food, we thought couch surfing would be the perfect option for that.

I (Nina) love to travel, because I am curious about meeting new people and get to know other cultures and ways to live. I am more the spontaneous type and like to try new things. Also I am always down for food or coffee, a hike, movie/theatre, crafts, having a chill night out in a bar or an occasional party. Or let's explore something else, I am open for it

I (Julius) love doing sports, especially ball sports like football (soccer) or volleyball as well as other stuff like hiking, skiing and tennis. I'm always down to try new sports and different adventurous activities.
Unlike Nina usually I like to plan some stuff, so we don't get lost or even worse, miss out amazing spots and locations. But that's always just a rough plan with a lot of room for spontaneous trips and adventures!

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

Just going to touristy places without getting in touch with the local culture and new people sounds awful to us! So we don't just want to travel but also get to know different people and cultures, that's why we thought couch surfing would be the perfect option for that.
Unfortunately we can't host people (yet), since we quit our jobs and moved out of our apartment, but we are looking forward to it in our new home (which should be Germany in about a year again - but you never know haha)

Música, películas y libros

Usually we like all kinds of music, depending on the mood: some chill german or english rap music, some electronical music for partying, but always open for new genres
I (Julius) love movies like Interstellar or Inception, and thrillers like Solace or Gone Girl.
I (Nina) also like thrillers - depending on the mood though - and documentaries, but there is nothing wrong with movies like Harry Potter, Shrek or trash tv

Algo increíble que he hecho

Hard to choose, maybe after our van broke down in a small town on Vancouver Island, we got to know amazing people who helped us in this bad situation by giving us a ride or referring us to other locals. We saw once again, what difference it makes when we help each other. After a week we got a used part from a local junkyard and could fix it. After, it was our home for Vancouver Island as well as down the US west coast for 4 months
