我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

One of the best parts of traveling adventures are the people we meet and connect with. Couchsurfing can be one of the ways for me to meet like-minded people and make friends as I travel.

- MUSIC: Hmmmm, a tough one. I really do like all kinds of genres. Among my favorites are definitely The Doors, Pink Floyd, RHCP, Florence and the Machine, Amy Winehouse. Among others, I'm also hooked on the likes of Alice Phoebe Lou, Jose Gonzalez, Passenger, Agnes Obel, The Noisettes, Alela Diane, Daughter, My Brightest Diamond, Novelle Vague, Soley, Of Monsters and Men, Stray Dogg, London Grammar, Bonobo, Chet Faker, London Grammar, Emancipator, The Cinematic Orchestra, Ojos de Brujo, Vaya con Dios, Madeleine Peyroux, Adele, Norah Jones, Sade, ...The list is endless!
- MOVIES: There are many great movies, and I don't want to make another endless list. But my all-time favorite one is Braveheart - not because I think it's the greatest movie ever made, but due to the heavy emotional value and memories of cherished moments and connections with my closest family.
- BOOKS: Well, I am a proud great fan of Harry Potter. YUP! I am an English and Croatian literature teacher, but this is my damn favorite one. I also ADORE the series of books by Jean M. Auel "Earth's Children". Currently I am reading "Anastasia" by Vladimir Megre. I've read so many books in my short life that I can't even remember most of the titles and authors, even if I really loved the books. It's just too much data too keep in my head. Lately I haven't had as much time to read as I did before, since now I am more busy with traveling and writing, and I am trying to make more time to read at least as half as I used to.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

One amazing thing... Well, I don0t think it's that special or amazing, since now a lot of people are doing it, and I am just one in the crowd. But during my last year of Master studies, I spent 10 months living in Czech Republic through Erasmus student exchange program, and this has been an experience that definitely changed the course of my life. After just a few months of my Erasmus, I remembered how much I had always dreamed about traveling, and people I met there helped me wake up and realize that it is really possible. So after my studies, I picked up my things and went to Spain, where I volunteered through Workaway for 6 months. Currently I am looking for my next adventure, but this time it will have to be an actual job, since I invested in my travels all of the small amount of money I had previously saved, and now I am completely broke!

Learning and teaching... More than anything I love learning (and hopefully teaching also) through experience of travel and through contact with real-life people who inspire me, or I inspire them. Although I enjoy solitude as well, I value different kinds of human connection above all. Generally, I believe that life with all its good and bad things is the greatest teacher.
Practically speaking, I can teach English, a bit of Spanish, singing, a bit of guitar. These are the things I'd like to learn more about as well. I would love to learn more languages in the future. Anything related to music, writing, and photography is valuable to me. I enjoy learning about different cultures, psychology, life mysteries, spirituality, ...

我可以与沙发主分享些什么

If we connect well, we will share interesting conversations over drinks or food, during long walks around the area they want to show me, or late at night when we cannot sleep. Hopefully we can also go out, if they want to, and have some fun together. If they are living near natural gems, we can hike together. If they have a guitar, I'll give my best to put my silly shyness aside and sing for them. I can try to teach them any of my skills related to language or music, or share stories and experiences about my travels and life abroad.
