About Me

Hello, I am Nina and live together with my boyfriend in Magdeburg since 2018. I am studying Peace and Conflict Studies in the Master's program and look forward to meeting new people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on Couchsurfing because I am of the opinion that traveling to different cities or countries should be affordable for much more people. Hotels are often too expensive and you also don't have the chance to meet locals who can show you interesting places, local dishes, etc. Also, I am a huge fan of sharing stories - everyone has something else to tell and I am eager to listen and share my story as well.

Interests

I love to travel and to take long walks in nature. At home, I often meet up with my friends to just hang around or go to town. I also enjoy being at festivals, beautifying our little garden or creating some art. Ohh, and I love cooking and eating quite a lot :) At the moment I am also learning Spanish again and I hope soon to be able to have some conversations.

Music, Movies, and Books

One of my favorite musicians is the wonderful Fatoumata Diawara, whose beautiful voice lets me dive into new worlds. At the same time, I am impressed by her strength and the message she spreads with her songs. I also love to relax to the wonderfully optimistic music of Xavier Rudd.

But depending on my mood I listen to much more music. At the moment I also have a very good Spotify mix of the week, which shows me new artists and genres.

I would love to read much more books but at the moment I am quite busy with reading for university. Sometimes, when I find books for free, I just take them home and read them for distraction. One book that stuck to my mind though was "Doing good better - Effective altruism and how you can make a difference" by William Macaskill. If you try to leave a positive footprint on this earth, I would really recommend reading this book.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of my most favorite experiences was my travel through Nepal and India. The first time I saw the mountains of the Himalaya I was overwhelmed and just thankful to be alive.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am always trying to find out more about myself, my feelings and why I react in certain ways. I can share my thoughts on that and would be very happy to learn from the experiences of others.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my stories, a wonderful time and food :)
