About Me

Hi there :) Beggining with the bigger picture:
PHILOSOPHY: live life truly and not only exist.
I believe we're on this world to make difference - for others and for ourselves, developing greater states of mind and positive actions - very budism referenced, although I'm not religious.
Discovering ourselves is a hard process, and get to be it as well in a world that spreads standardized behaviors, specially if we feel disconected of what society expect or try to make of us. Facing it, I'm adept of live and let live (if not disrespecting others, of course): feel free to get crazy near me, I'll not be chocked (at least it doesn't usually happens), I valorize genuine personalities, it's a matter of honesty and damn, it's somehow intuitive.

ABOUT ME (What a hard part!)

I suck at describing details like those asked here, actually(that will get obvious while you read. I'm new here, but I'll learn), first because my synthiesis capacity is not that sharp, but mostly because seems quite pretensious to talk about yourself from scratch. I think knowing yourself is a deep process and knowing someone is more a perspective matter and depends of how both subjects experience each other.
so, try it up and you'll know better.

But what is quite obvious: I talk quite a bit when there's opening for it (not randomly like zapping tv channels, i swear, but really enjoying nice conversation). And genuine personality and real exchanges catches my attention, even if I'm not used or don't agree with the differences, since I believe thats what makes life experience rich.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

WHY I STARTED
I think we need to open ourselves to getting to know others and absorb what they have to share. And doing it frequently ruptures the static confort zone and allows us to be amazed by what life can bring us. Cliche, but true.
And, deeply, I feel I belong somewhere else most of the time. Maybe couchsurfing will aproximate me of people that somehow will give me tips of that place (or those places).

I'm about to start my first backpacking trip next month, in crazy conditions with a very special someone so I'm very excited about it :)

WHY I STARTED NOW
I'm glad to have people around and now that I live in an apartment shared with fine people I have the opportunity to do CS. One of the girls that lived here started hosting people before recently going to a backpacking trip and I'd like to keep doing it. Specially since I'm about to start my own trip and will meet nice people, its retribucting in a way, expanding the CS community.

Interests

From how people think, do stuff, behave or not behave to conspiration theories or just stupid fun curiosities.
Budism, esoterism. Alternative Pedagogy. Psicology. Social relations. Politics. feminism, anarchism... I'm open to pretty much everything except some mind-blowing deepweb stuff.
oh, and food!

  • womens rights
  • dining
  • politics
  • tv
  • backpacking

Music, Movies, and Books

A band I could hear forever is Beirut. Music that keeps me up all night is latin, gipsy, balcanic rithms, but also love brazilian music, specially mpb, northeast music... Well, Facebook likes can specify for me, I think.

I've got fucking fish memory. So, movies here: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/user/id/906455984/ratings
Documentary: Malucos de BR, Exit through the gift shop, A educação proibida...
Books I remember have read and amazed me: Unberable lightness of being, Perfume - history of a murderer, Steppenwolf... err, fish memory.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Lived wholehearted the Camara's ocupancy (both dreamy and of Belo Horizonte dealing with State politics and (versus?) autonomous, popular politics. Best week of my life, so far!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm starved for new experiences almost all the time and so I get satisfaction from almost everything I can learn, from how to peel ginger faster to philosopies that makes life better.

I recognize some internal barriers that I'm willing to overcome and hope CS helps me on that so I can live better and make life of others around me more pleasant.
