I am a young senior citizen of 18 years with 58 years experience (18 + 58). I have been a frequent traveler from my childhood and have been to all parts of India and the globe covering more than 100 countries so far. Though Incredible India is so vast and diverse that even if you take several lives, you can’t cover it fully. However, I feel lucky to cover all the 28 States and 8 Union Territories of India which is a great achievement. My zeal for exploring the world is increasing day by day purely by watching the young travelers’ adventurous globe-trotting. I travel of my own as a backpacker using mostly local transportation and hitchhiking. Most of the time, I have been accompanied by my wife who is also an avid traveler. I stay in hostels and home stay with local population which gives me ample opportunity to interact and become friend with several co-travelers coming from different parts of the world. I love to be near nature - mountains, beaches, villages and local people. I enjoy trekking and going for long walk particularly in the early morning. I have achieved trek to Everest Base Camp, Kilimanjaro (Peak of Africa), Kailash-Mansarovar, Har Ki Doon, Mount Ramalla etc. I have also completed an expedition to Antarctica (the Seventh Continent) where I not only landed in few islands, but also crossed the Polar Circle and did a Polar Plunge in the ice cold water of Antarctica Ocean. Besides sightseeing, enjoying the natural beauties and various cuisines (vegetarian & non-vegetarian), I love to interact with local people to know more about their tradition, culture and values. I am always touched with the humble and down to earth nature of common people wherever I visit. And most importantly I enjoy sharing my travel experience with my friends and dear and near ones. I have been contributing and sharing my travel experience/ tips in Trip Advisor since 2013.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet and interact with people from all walks of the life in order to know more about their tradition. culture and value system. Moreover, with the help, guidance and company of the local people, I would like to explore more and more remote places which are rarely explored.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am lucky to cover all the 28 States and 8 Union Territories of my Incredible India. Is not it amazing?
Moreover, I have climbed the Everest Base Camp located at an altitude of 5364 meters at the age of 73 years.
I have also successfully climbed the Kilimanjaro peak (the roof of Africa) located at 5895 meters at the age of 74 years. Completing an expedition to Antarctica is also one of my memorable accomplishments.
