About Me

Hi! Still working on my profile as I'm new here, but here's a start! I am a Canadian from Montreal, QC, however I've spent the last 14 years living in Ohio (mostly in Cincinnati). I've always lived life more on the job security cautious responsible side and never really traveled, what I believe to be, enough. I recently lost my job and decided it was time to take a change and I was going to get rid of my apartment store all of my belongings and leave Ohio. I believe my time in Ohio is up for now and I wanted to take some time to get out of my comfort zone to find the right job and the next city for me. Additionally, I figured why not do this while traveling a little?

Most of my professional career has been in the world of American sports. I've worked in marketing, events and account management predominantly. My time in this space has allowed me to meet a lot of incredible people not just within the US, but also abroad.

I have always loved learning about people and their cultures, experiences and adventures. I am very fortunate to have been born and raised in such an incredible and diverse city such as Montreal. I feel as though living there and learning about everyone's backgrounds always gave me the travel bug, but I haven't gotten out in the world beyond North America as much as I feel I should have by now. I have always wanted to travel more. There's just something about the experience and feeling of getting to an airport and waiting for a flight to go somewhere. I don't know how to describe it, but it brings me so much happiness. So here I am, doing a little exploring, visiting places I've never been and collecting a few more stamps in my passport!

I am very much in a new discovery/journey phase of my life and love meeting new people. I enjoy taking in and exploring different cities as well as trying different foods. While I love to explore tourist attractions, but I also enjoy learning what those who live in different cities love most about them and why it feels like home to them. Their favorite places to eat and things to see that might not typically be outlined in a travel guide.

Overall, I'm pretty simple and enjoy simple things. I find a lot of joy in the ability to walk around a city and take it in. I love to stay pretty active. I really like yoga, fitness classes, (occasionally running) and just challenging myself physically and mentally.

I believe the best way to learn is to connect and see for yourself. That is my hope for this journey I'm on and I look forward to meeting some incredible people along the way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have joined Couchsurfing through a word of mouth recommendation. I have a friend whose partner couch surfed and speaks very highly of the experience and the people they've met along the way. She expressed how great of an opportunity it is to see a place through the eyes of someone who sees it as home. Plus it allows the opportunity to make genuine connections to people and a place.

I truly value the people and connections in my life and therefore this seems like a great place to start and hopefully meet some amazing people.

Music, Movies, and Books

Tough to pin point, but I love movies that make me laugh. Documentaries and tear jerkers are great too, but I'll always be up for watching something that makes me laugh!

Music, I enjoy all kinds. It would have to depend what I'm doing. Higher energy when I'm in the midst of a workout, something low key and calming or a podcast when I'm out walking around. R&B and Hip Hop have always been genres I've appreciated over the years, but quite frankly at this point in my life if it's a song I'm into, I'll listen to it regardless of the genre.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think what I'm doing now is pretty amazing. For me, the entire point of what I'm doing is to let go for once and trust that everything will work out the way it's supposed to for me.

Teach, Learn, Share

I really enjoy learning! So if I'm in a space where I can take in and learn new customs and traditions - I'm all about it.

I am always happy to share about my experiences and life if any part of it peaks your interest to learn more!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm pretty good at making breakfast foods. Otherwise, I'm pretty good at getting things done. If there's a way I can help with a project or event you're working I would be happy to.
