About Me

To meander through life, meet intriguing people, and embark on challenging adventures.

Greetings! Hmmm what to type ... I am easy-going and tend to be quite cheerful and spontaneous. I have an adventurous personality, and I am always up to exploring new places and meeting new challenges. I backpack, hitchhike, and climb for fun. I am currently a Mechanical Engineering student, but prior to this, I worked in various US National Parks. I am currently working on building a robotic fish and I am reading lots of cool research papers on insect based swarm algorithms.

Looking forward to meeting you!

Like Thoreau said so well "Be true to your work, your word, and your friend."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I currently do not have a home well-suited for hosting, but whenever I do I will enthusiastically offer my couch to others.

I surfed in my travels to Ecuador, in Berlin, and on my hitch hiking adventure to Istanbul.

I stayed with some people in Quito, and it was great.

Who knew that there were so many awesome strangers!!!

I am somewhat of an outdoors freak, and I like hiking backpacking, mountain biking, rock climbing, snow-shoeing, and the list goes on.

I am also fascinated by history, both local and world, and love opportunities to discuss it.

Languages are cool, and I am trying to learn Nepali from my best friend.

Recently, I have been studying bio-mimicry in robotics and control systems for autonomous drones at school. Fun, but creepy when you think of all that will soon be possible.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have hiked through many of the numerous hidden gorges and side canyons of the Grand Canyon, and documented insect species therein.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach some harmonica tunes, wilderness survival skills, and how to build a quad-copter. I also grow orchids and cacti, which is a somewhat translatable skill.
