Overview
About Me
I am an analytics consultant based in Chennai, India.
Since childhood the thought of traveling to new locations, exploring unique features of each place, meeting new people and trying out the local cuisine has fascinated me. In the last 2 years, i have put in a conscious effort to feed my fascination and travel to as many places as I can. Until now, i have traveled mainly to places across India (i.e Rishikesh, Haridwar, Tosh, Kasol, Amritsar, Dalhousie, McLeodgang, Dharamshala, Hampi, Agra, Bir biling, Sikkim, Chikmagalur, Delhi, Chennai) but now i am looking for opportunities to explore places outside India.
Being an avid photographer I am more interested in visiting places with natural beauty than big crowded cities. Wherever possible, I try to explore the cities on foot - this makes me feel more connected with the environment around me. While traveling, i generally start my day early so that i can utilize my time in the particular place as effectively as i can. I would any day prefer having a good conversation over a hot cup of coffee or a cold glass of virgin mojito (depending on the weather :) ) to partying all night.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I strongly believe that one can experience the true local culture of a place only by spending time and space with the local residents. Couchsurfing is an interesting concept that allows you to live with the locals and experience their life, which otherwise wouldn't be possible. It also gives you an opportunity to meet new people, listen to different perceptions, learn from other's experiences, and also share your perspective and experiences.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music - Prefer music that is soothing to the ears and not too loud. Generally listen to Bollywood music, but open to other genres as well.
Movies - My all time favorites are Forrest Gump, The Pursuit of Happyness, Gladiator and The Dark Knight. Lately, I have developed a preference for comedy movies.
Books - I prefer reading fiction books and find it really difficult to read Self-help books. Currently reading "The Kite Runner".
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Since childhood i have been very fond of motorbikes. When i was in college i promised myself that i would buy myself a good bike the day i have sufficient money. After working hard for 3 years when my savings were exactly equal to the on-road price of the bike that i had set my eyes on, I went and purchased my first sports bike without a second thought. The bike has been with me for the last 3 years and is undoubtedly my best investment until today.
