About Me

I'm a graphic designer living in Netanya, Israel. I like taking longs walks on the beach with my dog, Bolt, hang out with my friends and family and go hiking in the mountains.

I love to play games and tend to experience life in a playful way. My day job revolves around solving problems and finding creative solutions, so I tend to think on my feet. However, I do like to sit back and relax from time to time. I enjoy meeting new people, getting to know new cultures and exchange experiences of current and past traveling.

I study in the toy invention program, working on new ideas for the toy industry. There I got to know an amazing group of people, who are all sharing the deep passion for invention and the curiosity of children even though we are all adults.

I lived in Israel for most of my life. Recently I returned to Israel, after living in Düsseldorf, Germany for 4 years. Since my return I already visited my friends in Germany once in the summer. On the upcoming trip I'll also be visiting Nuremberg for the first time, as I'm going to the toy fair with my professors and fellow students from the toy invention program.

I have an open heart and an open mind, I love people and enjoy their company, but if you have pets, I'll probably talk to them too! I'm a bit more hesitant with cats (as I was bitten as a child) but I love them almost as much as I love dogs, which is a lot.

I know my way around the kitchen, usually more as a baker and a dessert maker, but I can also fix a Mediterranean or American dinner. I'm independent and fun loving, so you can have your quiet time or play games and chat until late, whatever suits you. As I traveled a lot and lived abroad, I'm accustomed to people from different cultures and fully respect my hosts and their place.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I always like to meet new people and prefer to be with locals and get the feeling of how they live their daily lives, rather than feeling like a tourist. I met many people on Meetups in the past few years and made amazing friends for life that way. I'm incredibly lucky to be able to have these amazing people in my life, to visit them and have them visit me, and I'm hoping to get that experience also through couchserfing. I'm also planning on getting a place of my own in the next few months and I would invest in a comfy sofa so I can host couchserfers who want to travel in Israel.

Interests

I'm a very enthusiastic board games player. I got really into that during the time I lived in Germany. I own about 40 games and play them with my family and friends. I used to be a hiking tour guide and did many trekking around New Zealand and Europe. Now I mainly go on short hikes where I can also take my dog. I always loved baking, and recently made many vegan cakes and desserts, as some of my family members are vegan and I like to be able to cater to everyone's needs and taste.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love so many kinds of music, books and movies... I'm very into indie music and would love to hear new artists that you know of. I love going to concerts and open stage evenings. I read mostly novels as I love real human stories. The same goes about movies, though I also love action and fantasy films and adore everything Pixar have ever made.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The one time I skipped a beat was in Iceland. I was on a bus when I saw Jökulsárlón, the glacier lagoon from a distance. It was so beautiful that I jumped on my feet and asked the bus driver to stop. He actually said that there was a stop planned and stopped there for about 15 minutes. Going around Iceland in public transportation also gives you free stops to view some of the most wonderful sights out there. I've seen and done many things since, but this is truly the most amazing thing I've ever seen.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach some vegan or non-vegan baking, or how to make a mean Shakshuka (an Israeli dish) or my secret for a juicy burger.
I would love to learn about you and your life and your interests.

What I Can Share with Hosts

We can cook together, share experiences from traveling, play a game or watch a movie. I can tell you about my studies in the toy invention program, and take a nice photo of you.
