ABOUT ME

I'm pretty outgoing and very independent.... and obviously full on obsessed with the world. I'm just completely curious and addicted to experiencing new places, things, people, and adventures. It is what makes life worth living!

PHILOSOPHY

I spent the majority of my adult life worrying about being too old to do certain things, worrying that I had no idea what I wanted to do for a profession, that I had not been married or had kids, that I have no idea what I want to get my masters in because I still don't know how to hone in on ONE thing that excites me. Ironically, as I've gotten older, I've let go of a lot of the fears of age and occupation and marital status, and realized what's really important to ME. And that is seeing the world. There is no education better, there is nothing more exhillerating in life, there is nothing more that keeps me alive and growing and expanding, and becoming a better person. The world is a spectacular place and I want to see every inch of it.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've not done NEARLY enough traveling for someone who has been dying to travel since birth. I have spent quite a lot of time in Israel, checked out Budapest and Prague, dipped into Mexico a bit, done a little exploring in Canada, and hung out in the Bahamas briefly. About two years ago I finally graduated college (a little late, I know), and decided that I really wanted to travel, but found I did not have the funds. So I decided to do some seasonal bartending and ended up checking out Sarasota, FL (and the entire state while I was there); Martha's Vineyard; Block Island; Vail, CO.... and drove everywhere along the way by myself so I've really been lucky with being able to experience the majority of this amazing country as well. But, it's not enough. It's time I jump on the couch surfing bandwagon and really experience the rest of the world.

I love to learn languages and new cultures. I love seeing new places and trying new things. I really enjoy meditating, reading, hiking, swimming, dancing, frolicking, laughing, my friends and family, coffee and tea, cooking and baking..... a little of everything.

I have a wide variety of things that I like. I have no favorite movie, band, type of music or book. It all depends on the mood I'm in at the time. I can enjoy reading My Horizontal Life if I'm in the mood for mindless laughing, as much as I can enjoy reading The Hunger Games if I'm in the mood for something with a little more of a plot (and something that makes you thing about life and human nature a bit differently). But, I can safely say that I love Kurt Vonneget. Slaughter House Five, baby. Holy crap.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

ONE thing? Hmmm.... well, when I was 18 I had decided that, given that I was so curious about the world and had a burning desire to see and experience it, I hopped on a plane out of the country for the first time, by myself, and moved to live on a Kibbutz in Israel. This experience could be a novel in itself... so if you want to hear about it, I'll just tell you upon request!
