HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I participated in the Jet Blue 'All You Can Jet' adventure and got to visit 10 cities in 26 days. That was my first time couchsurfing and I *loved* it. I stayed with CSers in 4 cities and got a great understanding of what CS is and the amazing people you can meet. I'm all about building community and what a better way to do so than to share a roof??

When I'm not traveling I'd love to get coffee or take CSers around Toledo (we have a world class art museum and zoo). Unfortunately, my roommate/landlord isn't keen on the idea of strangers staying over so I am unable to host until I get my own spot. However, I'd love to help make your time in Toledo a great experience!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In my first experience I stayed in Seattle with this sweet girl, her bf, and 2 random CSers, which was a great introductory experience full of intelligent conversation. In Long Beach I surfed for only one night but had *the* most fabulous experience getting to know my hosts and tons of other CSers at a CS party in Orange County. From there I stayed in Portland with a pair of amazing people in a cool farm-type house, complete with chickens and goats :) I also surfed with an extremely kind woman in San Juan who helped introduce me to 'real' (not tourist) Puerto Rico.

All in all, each of my experiences have been memorable and I feel blessed to have gotten so lucky with my former hosts.

I don't know if I can choose just one...

My trip to Rome & Vatican City was one of the most amazing things I have done. Everything - the food, art, architecture, was wonderful...but I was truly awestruck when I was tracking down Bernini's sculptures and foundations. I went to a small church (Santa Maria della Vittoria) that housed 'Ecstasy of St. Teresa' and it was closed for their version of siesta. I was heartbroken and eventually made my way back hours later. Then, when I saw it... wow.

There are really no words to describe it; I was positively enraptured. And besides the art, there was also the historical significance of it - that I was in the presence of a work of art sculpted by Bernini and gazed at by church goers and art lovers for centuries.

I have a lot of experience working with youth (I was the director of an after-school program for middle school students), leadership programs, and community organizing...Those things tend to be my specialty, besides random knowledge about history, politics, different cultures, and the arts ;)

Ooooh and I lived in Spain for a summer so I know some spanish! I'm always willing to teach beginners and learn from those more experienced!

Also, I know the basics of salsa, merengue, and bachata if you wanna learn how to 'bailar' :)

I was an official college mascot at BGSU (sounds weird, but it's a HUGE deal and part of campus tradition there) so I can teach you how to spell with your body...lol, mostly. Or anything else on how to be a mascot.

In HS I got 2nd place - after a fierce 'Bag-Off' - at the Regional Bagging Tournament and went to the State Bagging Finals...so, I guess you could say I know how to bag groceries (lol). So I could go shopping with you..? haha

Finally, I'm pretty good at 'stalking' politicians and celebrities so if you need tips on how to get that picture you want, I'm your gal! ;)

...Ummmm I have a lot of random and funny stories, so I can entertain you, at the very least ;)
