I'm a pre-medical student, certified personal trainer, writer and ecommerce professional. I have a deep love for food, books, tequila, and stimulating conversation.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am an experience whore. I thrive off of constant intellectual, emotional, and physical stimulation. Couchsurfing is heaven for experience whores. It's a tool that will expose me to different cultures, people with different ideas, different environments, etc....
I am also fascinated with human beings. I was a psychology major and very interested in what makes people tick, what makes them happy, what makes them sad as well as how to help others overcome obstacles such as mental illness and emotional instability. Couchsurfing will feed that interest.
I want to learn. I just want to soak up all of the world, if I can. I think Couchsurfing will enable me to do that.
Fitness: I'm a personal trainer and an NPC bikini competitor.
Reading: I love books. Books are my substitute adventures. I can flip through the pages and feel everything that I'm unable to feel in my real life, experience everything that I can't during my day to day routine. When I finish books, I feel the peace, closure, and accomplishment that I don't feel when finishing an assignment.
Musical Theater: Oh my gosh....When I'm in my seat in that huge, dark, room and the music starts and the actors run on stage in their over-the-top costumes, the hair on my neck stands up. I grin like a fool as I sing along to the songs that I'm the only one in my row who has memorized. The energy that passes between the actors and the audience.....It's magical!
Mental Health Advocacy: I'm very passionate about mental health care reform and revolutionizing the way we think about mental illness. I think that our society focuses more on punishment and retribution than healing and understanding. If we focused more on healing our society, we would have less criminals, less suicides, less sorrow in general. People with mental illness rarely get to live full and happy lives and often feel trapped in their own existence. It's sad and I'd like to contribute to changing that.
Yoga/Meditation:. I want to have better control of my emotions and less tension in my body, less chaos in my mind. I think that yoga and meditation could help with that immensely.
