About Me

ABOUT ME

I moved to San Francisco in 2008 from New York. Being here has changed my life. I learned to road bike, run, and ski. I also regularly practice yoga. I am far from the fastest or the best at any of these things, but I enjoy the journey. I love traveling and having new adventures, but I am pretty cautious and like to take my time approaching a new interest or activity. Living in San Francisco has also enabled me to rediscover my faith in God and what it means to truly be a follower of Jesus.

PHILOSOPHY

You will always hear me say, do you. Too often we worry about what other people think and abandon our own thoughts and desires. As much as I can, I try to be true to what it is that I want from my life. It's not that I don't make compromises or even mistakes at times, I do. But as much as I am able, I keep my "big picture" goals, ambitions, philosophies at the forefront of my life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far I have gone to a couple Couch-surfing happy hours and hosted a few people through this website and another website that is geared more towards long distance bikers. I enjoy meeting people who are in the midst of a journey. They tend to see the world in ways that I don't.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Though I have done my fair share of staying with friends when I have gone to visit different cities, I have only officially couchsurfed once. However that time was really special. I felt like I was visiting an old friend. We cooked, went night-skiing and went out to dinner. Mostly we shared about our lives and laughed.. a lot. I strive to create a similar experience when I host so the person visiting is not just another tourist in my city.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love listening to soul, blues, and gospel.
I love dancing to hip/hop, reggae and soca, sometimes house.
I am really into documentaries these days. One of my favorites is Lightning in a Bottle. Unfortunately I don't read much these days outside of the newspaper.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have traveled to a lot of wonderful places and have met some exceptional people, however the single most amazing thing I have done is to accept Jesus into my life. With all the ills in the world that takes place in the name of God and religion, I have worked hard to be unapologetic about my beliefs. Please know that if you ever come across me, all that you find worthwhile, charming, interesting or decent about me is as a result of living out my faith.

Teach, Learn, Share

These days, I am really interested in learning French though I have made very little progress in that regard. I am always willing to share stories of my active pursuits and all the amazing people I have come across.
