Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My CS experience ranges from positive to incredibly amazing.

Once, my car broke down in Klaipeda, Lithuania. 3 couchsurfers hosted me and my friend for 10 days in their student dorm until the car was fixed. Not only did they save both our lives, we became friends and had a very good time waiting in this remote Baltic town.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite book: The Master and Margarita.

Movie: Porco Rosso! And everything by Miyazaki! Bertrand Tavernier as well, but that's a bit too French-centered.

Music: Any local pop! Every country has its own version of Britney Spears - loud beats and computerized voices is the most universal music.

Seriously, I like most music produced since Schubert, from Gershwin to K'naan, from technopop to Turkmen jazz. But if you want to make me really happy: French singers from the 70's!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

30,000km in a soviet-made Lada Niva, in winter. Paris-Russia-Istanbul-Caucasus and back. That was cool.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can cook well enough and I'll be super excited if a hosts takes me to the local market - I can probably show you a trick or two if I can find my way around the local ingredients.
