Overview
About Me
I'm also the kind of person who gets joy in helping people. Not afraid to host people who have no or little references. But.....anyone who's on couchsurfing also knows there are some people who only use it as a last option, without even looking at someone profile. For this reason, if you're considering me as host, please mention the word Duinrell in your request. Duinrell itself could be a destination, just google it. It's just a 5 minute walk from my home. Whenever I offer someone a stay, I take the time to read someone's profile, and I expect surfers to do the same.
My howetown of Wassenaar could be a destination on its own, but I fully understand that people are more attracted to bigger and more famous places like Amsterdam or Rotterdam. But, as you might see on a map, The Netherlands isn't the biggest country in the world. Boht previously mentioned cities are just around the corner, at about an hour by public transport. And 2 more major Dutch cities, Leiden and The Hague are even closer, about 20 minutes by bus. So, If you visit this part of The Netherlands, my hometown is ideal as a base. And, during the season, there's a direct bus to Keukenhof!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Just love helping people out, and like meeting people from different backgrounds and cultures. One thing I did learn after having hosted a few surfers, I like spending time together.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm into a lot of music, basically everything from Mozart to Rammstein. Not really into reading, and not very fond of horror or thriller movies.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Offering a place to stay for a girl I only knew for 20 minutes, and shortly followed by her girlfriend. They stayed with me for 18 months and I moved them to the UK to live happily ever after. Still keeping in touch!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can show you some typical Dutch things, food and part of the culture and personal outlook on life. Personally for me a traveller, there's just too much to explore within a 500 km radius from my home, but I'm aware that the world is much, much bigger. Being a host on couchsurfing allows me to have a taste of this bigger world, without me having to travel there myself. I'd like to learn about those places, and might even be persuaded to go into this bigger world and explore it for myself.

I love my little town and can show them round. It has got some WW II historical sites
