ABOUT ME

HI!

I'm Nathalie and am currently studying film and art history at Boston University. I don't usually know what to say in these things, but since I know you might want to know something about me I'll try.

I try to live my life as honestly to others and myself as I can, and I abide by the rule live and let live. People come from so many different backgrounds and have so many different interests that I just don't think there are rules that fit every single person. It's usually thoughtful consideration that gives you a clue into what's right for you and what might be right for me.

I haven't had a chance to travel a whole lot just yet, but the few experiences I've had revealed to me just how to truly great is. Some people I've talked to think that traveling is an escapist activity that you leave everything behind and forget about yourself and your reality, but I disagree. I think that when you travel you are able to get away from the reality that forces you to compromise yourself and keeps you from what you really want to do. When I travel, I feel more like myself, more free to do what I feel and think is right.

PHILOSOPHY

If you would not be forgotten, either write things worth reading or do things worth writing - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't really participated yet. One of my roommates has been involved with couchsurfing for some years now and about a week ago she hosted some girls at our flat, so I got to interact with them quite a bit.

Interests

As a film and art history major, I'm quite obviously interested in both. My studies focus on avant-garde filmmaking practices and on contemporary art.

I love going to live music shows (it's probably one of my bigger obsessions) and reading music blogs.

I like dancing, philosophy classes, meeting new people, learning about different cultures, traveling, trying new food, skiing, road trips, football/soccer, reading (though I don't really have time during term outside of assigned reading), fashion, making films, conceptual art, staying in, going to the movies, bagels and coffee.
