About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My current mission is to get myself into the most funky, far-away-from-home situations that I can. To accomplish this, I do my very best to keep an open mind and welcome new people, new experiences, new ideas and new places with open arms.

ABOUT ME

I have a particularly strong affection for literature. I love discussing and talking about all books. I also love making use of my knowledge of the French language.

Another thing that I've become very fond of since I began traveling is swapping traveling stories. Everyone seems to have a good one (or many)!

Finally, I try to stay optimistic; to not let too many things get me down. I think that the world is all about give and take. You win some and you lose some and staying optimistic about that "give and take" relationship is how I try to conduct myself everyday.

PHILOSOPHY

Like I said, optimism is the key. Also very much important to my personal philosophy is hard work. Nothing ever gets done without it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Unfortunately, I don't have any space to offer to another couchsurfer. Its just not the right time in my life to do so. I hope that one day soon I'll have an open couch to offer! For now, i'm just a surfer.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've only had one couchsurfing experience and it was great. I stayed on someone's house boat parked in a canal in Amsterdam. My host was wonderful; she gave me maps to get around and offered to feed me. Without a doubt, my first couchsurfing experience infinitely bettered my trip to Amsterdam!

Interests

Aside from reading, speaking in French, and traveling? I love learning. Learning new philosophies, new stories, new music-I really just can't get enough. I also love to cook. One of my favorite things to do over the past year is to just set aside an hour or more to put some tlc into my meal. I'm definitely a foodie.

I also play (or at least try to play) the banjo and the ukulele. I'd love the chance to mess around on an accordion.

Music, Movies, and Books

I will very happily watch, listen to or read anything that is well written. Its not that I can't listen to poppy music or watch a hollywood blockbuster, I just prefer things that have a good artistic quality to them.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have hiked to the top of a fourteen thousand foot mountain. It was probably the hardest physical work I've ever done in my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I enjoy learning from anyone who has anything to teach me. Since I began traveling I've decided to be an open book, a sponge that will soak up anything.

Countries I’ve Visited
