About Me

I am a nomad using my career, biologist, as a way to travel around the world meeting new places, animals and people. It has worked pretty well this far, allowing me to work with a variety of birds (hummingbirds, penguins, sparrows, macaws) in a variety of places (Argentina, Ecuador, Costa Rica, USA)

I've recently finished my PhD in Argentina, working on the reintroduction of the Red-and-Green Macaw. If you don't know what that is, think of a large red parrot. Did you see the movie Rio? Well, like that but in red. This species in particular became extinct in my country and I worked with a local NGO to restore it by getting macaws from zoos, rehabilitating them ("teaching them how to be wild again") and releasing them.

I am currently looking for my next destination, trying different macaw/parrot conservation jobs throughout Latin America. Currently living in an island out of the coast of Honduras, studying yellow-naped amazons!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Well, I love to meet people from cultures different than mine. I love the idea of getting a glimpse into how people really live in other places.
