ABOUT ME

Born in Manitoba, and raised in Kelowna B.C., my life has been a rhythmic mix of the open fields south of Winnipeg, and the orchards tucked away in the hills of the Okanagan. While I spend most of my summers working on my family's vineyard in Kelowna, I am enjoying [enduring] the brisk winters in Montreal.
I am in the Bachellor of Arts program at McGill, and working towards transferring into the school of Social Work. Aside from studies, I try to do as many new things as possible. This winter- I've been learning to indoor rock climb, and ice climb in the Laurentians. Next summer: juggling and walking a tight rope.
I've done a fair bit of travelling so far. I spent 2006 living in Amsterdam, with a two month trip to Venezuela. While in Venezuela I was involved in a street performance group, painting murals in the Caracas borough of Propatria, and helping out with arts therapy in an orphanage.
I am always looking for a way to mix art, exploration, and getting to know people. So- if you have any ideas let me know!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am a new member to CS, and am just discovering all the ways I can get involved- for now, my involvement is mostly surfing the couches of other generous surfers, and offering my home to fellow adventurers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I only just joined, but I've been amazed with how quickly other couch surfers reply to requests, and in general, how helpful everyone is!

Music, Movies, and Books

As far as books are concerned, I like Ray Bradbury's "Martian Chronicles," Phyllis Webb's poetry (especially "Treblinka Gas Chamebers"), Miriam Toews, and quite a few others.
I don't watch that many movies, but the Planet Earth series is quite good! I also like the German film "Wings of Desire," as well as Dr.Seuss's 1953 film "The 5000 fingers of Dr.Terwiliker"

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to cook with people, and share recipes I've learned both from my parents and from people I have stayed with in other countries. But I'm sure there would be other things that would come up with each individual I meet.
