My name is Nolan and I grew up in a small town in western Iowa. I have been traveling, visiting friends, and working season jobs related to my interest including natural resource management, education, agriculture, historic restoration, and bicycling.

I like maps, hiking, history, and exploring stuff that is hidden in plain sight. I enjoy cooking, riding bikes, and making things, trying to grow my own food, ferments, and homestead and folk crafts. I enjoy learning how things work and about local history of where ever I'm at. Getting more into historic window restoration and maybe stained glass!

I mostly listen to 70s folk and county music, 90s alternative rock, the talking heads, and modern things spun from all that- but a little of everything.
I don't spend a lot of time watching movies, but enjoy any that are well made.
