About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To meet you

ABOUT ME

I have been born and raised in Texas. I am an ecclectic fellow that has done many things, stretching from being homeless(though not for long), to working in a Trauma 1 Emergency Room for 4 years, to joining the Armybeing a repossession agent for a loan company, renovated a beat up duplex, bartending a few places, now traveled some of the world.

I have had an entertaining life. But, it was not until I got that job in the ER that I decided what path I wanted to take. So since then I have been working on getting myself into and through Nursing School, which I am still chasing...

Otherwise I love travel(obviously), physical activity(Like Brazilian Jiu-Jitusu, 4 Square, Disc Golf, I'll try anything), gardening, hiking, learning about people from all over the world, thinking games (like chess).

Also check myspace or facebook for even more info. I did the HTML on these so if you click them they will go straight to my Facebook profiles:

https://profiles.google.com/DeucePeveto ...there is a link to my detailed Blog about my CS and traveling adventures(I like to write, and so I hope its a good read) check it out

PHILOSOPHY

I treat other people as I think I would like to be treated (the Golden Rule). I think the human experience would be better for all of us if we could just stick to that one simple guildeline. Be good people! :)

Here is a video of my personal philosophy

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

O man. Umm where to start?

OK since I gave away all of my worldly possessions ( even my car, YIKES!) and started living out of a backpack I have seen the remains of the twin towers in NY on my way out to an amaging trip to Europe with Samantha. We have seen the beautiful landscapes of backwood PA.

We saw a quuuuick tour of London on the way of of there. A nice port city called Dover in the UK and met some nice chaps at a pub there. Couch surfed in Hasselt, Belgium for the first time and had some GREAT food with our first host Gert.

Fell in love with CS and then went to Gent, Belgium and saw the old city and hit the bars with our cool host and good friend Peter. Saw the life of a small town and watched Sam get a tattoo in Dutch/Fennish in Lede/Aalst, Belgium with Kristoph.

Got a great tour of Nij in Holland with our sweet host Dehmar. Had some good conversation overlooking AmDam with Haans. Went to an amazing candlelite night festival in Liege, Belgium with our friend Didier.

Made a quick walk through of Brussles and had some vetarian food with Sven. Saw the midieval city of Rothenberg and the stimulating sights of Bavaria with our fun host Damian in Germany.

Walked through an ancient Roman city with our very patient host Martin. Drank and saw a bit of Zurich with our host Flavo and his assistants Matthias and Heimo...lol. Enjoyed the best pizza walking around Vienna with our host PaWal.

Had a true home made experience with Gabor's wonderful family in southern Hungary. Saw some sites in Romania with our lovely hostess Alice. Saw Milano thanks to Giuseppe, the amazing art and beauty of Florence thanks to Nico, a nice park in Naples and the ruins of Pompei staying with Fabio.

Got the Euro-Christmas feel in Nancy and Metz in France thanks to Cecil. Saw the wonders of Paris thanks to Fransouis.

Met many fellow Texans during my Texas meeting. Had a blast with Linda in Mexico (my new CS friend) and met up with Alejandro and Armondo for a nice CS meet in Cancun. Explored Chichen Itza, Playa del Carmen, cenotes and rural Mexico with Alex!

Staying with locals shows you how they live in that culture, eating their foods, getting around how they do, doing what they do. It keeps you away from the routine hotel experience where everything seems touristy and the same everywhere. Instead it drops you right into being (at least somewhat) like the locals and thus a more genuine experience. I have also discovered that little rural towns & villages tend make for a more personal experience. I hope to bring this experience back home to the U.S. and tell the world to get involved.

Now I am an ambassador, ready to host and meet with international travelers and learn from their experiences as they enjoy the culture I grew up in. I am eager to share who I am and where I am from with the rest of the CS world as it has done so much for me.

After that I got locked out of my account for about a year, and now I'm back. I now have a job that allows much potiential for travel, so I may see you soon.

Interests

The entire human experience. Truth, love, family, life, experience, & character. I fell in love with travel and CS on my trip to Europe and want to see the whole world now.

I'm

Otherwise interests include : Chess, Physical Sports, Making Movies, Drinkin' and good comversation, Cooking (and eating...lol), Brazillian Ju-Jitusu, Exploring the unknown, Writing blogs and si-fi, Video(directing, writing, acting), Painting, & Photography (I plan to fill my house with pictures I took of the world) and anything outdoors...

Music, Movies & Books

The list goes on I but I like to be taken away by a good movie. I want to feel as if I took something away on my watching a movie instead of just wasted 1 1/2 hours of my life. Those movies are few and far between here are a few examples:

August Rush, Pay It Forward, Eternal Sunshine and the Spotless Mind, Stranger than Fiction, V for Vendetta, Requiem for a Dream, Powder, Peaceful Warrior, Fight Club, Boondock Saints...

LOVE music, no need for cable TV when you have music

Muse, Jack Johnson, 30 Seconds to Mars, Florence and the Machine, Death Cab for Cutie, Daft Punk, Bob Marley, Pink Floyd, old Elton John, old John Mayer, old Pearl Jam(dating myself there)...ok, seriously I could do this for longer than you are willing to read

One Amazing Thing I've Done

I have seen some, more than many, but want to see and do as much as I can in one lifetime...

I have a blog of amazing things since it is far too large to write here : www.blog.myspace.com/pvthedestroyer

Teach, Learn, Share

I teach whatever I know, live to learn, and own to share...

I am an eternal student, I will learn as long as I'm here

Countries I've Visited

Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Romania, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I've Lived In

United States
