Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Cultivating Connections and Expanding Horizons Through Couchsurfing: A Mindset Coach's Perspective

I've joined Couchsurfing driven by a passion for fostering global unity and creating unforgettable shared experiences. Through my journey from VIP summer camps in Voronezh, Russia, to exploring the hidden attics of Baku, Azerbaijan, and immersing myself in the dynamic nightlife of Bangkok and Dubai, I've come to believe that true understanding blossoms when we connect with people on a personal level. Couchsurfing enables me to rest on the couches and hearts of fellow travelers, exchange stories, and learn about diverse cultures firsthand. It's more than just a place to stay; it's a platform that facilitates genuine human connections across borders. Together, let's build bridges of friendship and celebrate the beautiful mosaic of our world.

Being a mindset and lifestyle coach I often tell my clients that our mindset shapes our reality, and here, it extends beyond the individual. The mindset of a traveler, of a host, of a Couchsurfing enthusiast, is one that welcomes vulnerability, embraces diversity, and is fueled by a curiosity for the unfamiliar.

As we traverse the landscapes of cities and cultures, remember that the journey is not just about the places, but about the souls we meet along the way. Couchsurfing becomes a platform where mindset coaching takes on a global dimension, fostering connections that transcend geographic boundaries and nourishing a collective mindset of unity and understanding.

Music, Movies, and Books

When it comes to music, my heart finds solace in the soulful twang of country melodies. There's something about the storytelling woven into each lyric that resonates deeply with me. (Bertie Higgins, Tom Rosenthal, Eddie Vedder, John Denver, Bob Dylan, Bob Seger, Gipsy Kings)

As for literary companions, you'll often find me immersed in the pages of self-help and coaching non-fiction books. The journey of personal growth and the exploration of the mind are topics that continually inspire me to evolve and inspire others. (Robin Sharma, Richard Bandler, and other NLP experts)

When it's time for visual journeys, I'm drawn to documentaries that unravel the intricacies of different cultures and the tales of fellow travelers. These cinematic adventures expand my horizons and remind me of the beauty that lies beyond my own backyard. (Into The Wild, The Shawshank Redemption, Expedition Happiness, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Amazing? That too just 1? Not sure! Haha...

But went for 14 days without bathing at the Russian VIP Summer Camp, screamed my heart out on the world's fastest roller coaster, slept under the stars on the Himalayas at -20° C and woke up covered in snow, explored the luxurious tents and resorts in remotest of wildlife villages of Rajasthan, survived Russian immigration after 5 hours of interrogation for being bald at that time- well now I have long long hairs :p

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: Sharing knowledge is a gift that enriches both the giver and the receiver. I'm excited to offer insights into my passion for mindset coaching (free 1-hour coaching sessions), my experiences as a UN volunteer (Teaching English since I worked for SGD No. 4 Quality Education and taught English for 2 months in Russia), Video Editing (Da Vinci Resolve since I'm a YouTuber too), Public Speaking and the joy of exploring diverse cultures. Let's exchange wisdom that adds color to our shared journey.

Learn: Every encounter is a chance to broaden our horizons. I approach every stay with a receptive mindset, eager to absorb the beauty of your stories, your traditions, and your perspectives. Your lessons are my enrichment and my profession after all.

Share: The most beautiful connections are forged through shared experiences. From discussions over breakfast to witnessing the tapestry of your city, I'm thrilled to share my own stories, the passions that ignite my soul and the amazing mindset coaching frameworks and strategies I've worked on for over a year now.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Let me share a story:

I was in Voronezh, Russia where I spent 2 months living with Vlad who used to teach me Russian at times. When it was time for me to leave- I was emotional and I hardly had anything to give him; that was time I pulled out a book from my bag and gave it to him and explained what it means to me. That book was 'Bhagavad Gita' (Hindu Scripture).

I since then always carry a BG in my bag when I go on foreign travels and I believe sharing a source of my knowledge and wisdom and strength is the biggest act of gratitude I can do.
